Back from Dreamcast june.

It's been awhile since I've posted something. I've been busy playing my wonderful Dreamcast. Time to review anew......
UNDER DEFEAT
UNDER DEFEAT

This is a GEM of a shooter. I rank it up there with Ikaruga. The controls need a little getting used to, but after a short while, they seem to fit well. It reminds me of an old game called Tiger-Heli(NES). Everything feels great in this title. graphics are amazing, sound is good, it even works well with a tremor pack. The "ship" you use is a helicopter, but your power ups are different. Instead of the usual shot improvements, you get little allies to save the day.(Rocket kicks butt by the way.) If I had to find a fault in this game it's the lack of full screen. it's there, but not without turning your T.V sideways. All in all. one of my favorite shmups ever!

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 :a reveiw I didn't think i'd do

Marvel vs Capcom 2

Now the thing about this reveiw is I was not going to post any reveiws about commonly known games but i have to say I'll make an exception.
This is a fun game, lots of fighters, tons of unlockables, cool characters. What is there to complain about? It's overrated. The gameplay is good, Not the best damn fighter ever. Four buttons instead of six makes things simple but maybe just alittle too simple for my standard fare. combat as everone already knows is a three on three fest of fighting with furious fists' flying into super moves that can turn into three fighter super cancels. This is good, tech wise it's good, even graphics wise it's great but the price tag isn't. With cheap copies going for $60 on the dreamcast. I can't really see the fuss. It's good but try to find it cheap. I pesonally sat Capcom vs snk 2 is better with a much stronger tech system but hey that's my opinoin.

NEO4ALL Neo geo cd emulator

This is by far the best emulator on the Dreamcast. Period. You can do a disc swap or if you know how to do it(I don't) make a selfbootable disc containg the emulator and game. The speed is near perfect and the gameplay flawless. No major slowdown to speak of and if it isn't fullspeed, It comes DAMN CLOSE!! Got a few games for it that run real good. Metal slug 2, real bout fatal fury 2 special, and ninja masters. These titles ate up my quarters and are now taking up more hours than ever before. The occasional slowdown happens when it feels like it should(swarms of baddies in metal slug cause a bit of slowdown, but it feels like the slowdown would be there even in the arcades) Chui, the guy behind the emulator, is truly showing what can be done on the dreamcast. I tip my hat to you Chui.
Here is a vid of me playing the best emulator with metal slug 2.

Soul Fighter

The worst game ever

Photobucket

This game is awful, terrible, painfully bad. This game has so much suck to it my dreamcast begs for me to burn it. The graphics look like a crappy N64 game with jagged movements and bad enviroments every where. The controls aren't even responsive. The sound is so bad my ears wanted to bleed. Nothing is good in this game,NOTHING! the voices in the game sound stupid. When the annoncer says "OH NO" everytime you get hit. It's crap, bad crap, okay it sucks badly. and for a beat 'em up it has no multiplayer. there are three fighters to choose from and they all suck! Only one is decent to play with and he still sucks! The enimies are as generic as can be. The combat is just lame, and the boss battles are nothing but blocking practice(Block the bad guys attack, hit boss, repeat) DON'T BUY THIS GAME EVER!!

Master System and Game Gear emulator for Dreamcast

This my favorite emulator by far on the Dreamcast. The emulation is great, great controls, fun games, good sound for an emulator, and the coolest menu I've ever seen! A DANCING CHIBI CAT!! The only real downside to this emulator is the Games. There wasn't a lot of grand titles for me to play in the small master system/game gear library. Besides that there were a few fun titles like alex kidd and the sonics to hold my interest. It is just amazing to play this piece of sega history on a system that was sega's last hurrah. I say this is a must get if you loved sega when they were great. This is just like dreamsnes in terms of burning so bootdreams is still good to have. Here's the link to the emulator.

Dreamsnes Super Nintendo Emulator

Dreamcast Emulation

Dreamsnes is an old SNES Emulator for the Dreamcast that has amazing compatablity, MP3 support, and costomizable settings.

Well most games play well with just a bit of frameskip, but some are terrible. the autosave feature is a bad thing in this emulator due to it mucks things up. The few games I can't play are yoshi's island(slowdown like no other),street fighter alpha 2(won't load),doom(won't load), and shein's revenge( *sigh* won't load). I'd say if you have some time to try Dreamsnes go for it but i can't wait for SNES4ALL to be a little better due to it still has support and updates.

Just get the binary, and use boot dreams to convert to a cdi image after you put the roms the right folder, burn with bootdreams, PLAY!!

Frame Gride

Photobucket

Frame Gride is a mech game from FROM software that I saw on ebay and the game seemed to interest me so I bought it for the grand price of $25. This is my review...

The first thing I have to say is get an FAQ for a least the beginning of the game. The game asks you questions that determine your weapons and armor which you'll need help unless you read Japanese. other than that, the game is a real fun mech filled battle quest. The controls at first are a little clunky, but after a half hour of training the controls feel good and responsive. The game play consists of one on one battles. The battles are fun to say the least and the enimes look a little varied which can help. Frame Gride has the most interesting item system I have ever seen. When you win battles, you gain gems then you combine gems to get items for your mech to battle better. Another interesting feature with this game the squire, a small robot that you can bring out to join the fray. These guys are real cool as they are so different. Big ones, little ones, and all have different attacks. the combat is simple but layered with many different attacks and strategies. The graphics, one word ,awesome. From the robots themselves to the arenas around you, the game is pretty. Try this on a vga adapter, jaw-dropping. If you can handle the controls, handle the Japanese text, and love robots that are very original. BUY IT!! This is a vid I found demonstrating the gameplay.
