Frame Gride is a mech game from FROM software that I saw on ebay and the game seemed to interest me so I bought it for the grand price of $25. This is my review...
The first thing I have to say is get an FAQ for a least the beginning of the game. The game asks you questions that determine your weapons and armor which you'll need help unless you read Japanese. other than that, the game is a real fun mech filled battle quest. The controls at first are a little clunky, but after a half hour of training the controls feel good and responsive. The game play consists of one on one battles. The battles are fun to say the least and the enimes look a little varied which can help. Frame Gride has the most interesting item system I have ever seen. When you win battles, you gain gems then you combine gems to get items for your mech to battle better. Another interesting feature with this game the squire, a small robot that you can bring out to join the fray. These guys are real cool as they are so different. Big ones, little ones, and all have different attacks. the combat is simple but layered with many different attacks and strategies. The graphics, one word ,awesome. From the robots themselves to the arenas around you, the game is pretty. Try this on a vga adapter, jaw-dropping. If you can handle the controls, handle the Japanese text, and love robots that are very original. BUY IT!! This is a vid I found demonstrating the gameplay.
